  • 2012 Proton Saga FLX bolt on turbo

Here is my own 2012 Proton Saga FLX bolt on turbo. Currently running without management, still able to boost up to 0.4 bar (albeit with bad fuel consumption). Saving up for a Haltech Sprint 500 standalone! To complement the power, a new semi-racing clutch will be dropped in. Next is to upgrade the brake system to a double servo pump, and better brake pads. The car is currently running on a lowered spring setup (Sapura sports spring) which is sufficient for daily usage. Read more

2013 Renault Clio Sport 200 Turbo EDC edition prices confirmed!

Renault has confirmed the prices for the Clio Renault Sport 200 Turbo; the cars will be priced at RM89,381 (£18,995) for the EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) and RM94,087 (£19,995) for the Lux version. These are the prices for the UK launch; Malaysians should expect pricing similar to that of the recently launched MK7 Volkswagen Golf.

Lets skip straight to the highlight: the 1.6-litre DIG turbo engine packs 200bhp and 240Nm of torque. 0-100km/h (0-62mph) is done in just 6.7 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the previous model. While the performance aren’t supercar range, the Clio offers a good balance between family car and sports performance (much like the Golf GTI).

The Renault Clio Sport 200 Turbo will feature EDC as standard function. EDC allows a shift time of under 150 milliseconds in Race mode.  The 6 gears will be controllable from the aluminium column mounted paddle shifters. Suprisingly, the Renault Clio Sport 200 will feature launch control, and a race mode that turns off the ESC and ASR traction control. The Renault Clio Sport 200 will also be the first production car to feature hydraulic compression stops in shock absorbers, which are usually found only in rally cars.

Minor tweaks to the suspension and chassis ensures great handling (15% stiffer chassis, 3mm lowered ride height, 10% increased anti-roll bar stiffness) which are complemented with bigger 320mm brakes. To match the added performance, R.S. exhaust pipes enhances the exhaust notes for spirited drives.

High level of equipment on both versions – air conditioning, integrated MediaNav seven-inch touchscreen including Bluetooth, USB connectivity and 4x20W Arkamys audio with Bass Reflex speaker system, electric door mirrors, keyless start and entry, Renaultsport front seats. The Lux edition adds: 4x35W Arkamys 3D Sound audio system plus two tweeters, auto lights and wipers, climate control, electrically adjustable and folding door mirrors, integrated R-Link multimedia system with seven-inch touchscreen (Carminat TomTom Live navigation with 3 months subscription and App Store), extra tinted rear windows and tailgate, electric rear windows.

Great news for those that want something different!
