Mazda Astina 323F Lantis with Celica Headlamp conversion
Saw this cool Mazda Lantis a while back. It sports a full Toyota Celica styled front, complete with lights and hood vents. Owner also did a custom wide body kit to the car! So far, the other head lamp mod I have seen on the Lantis was from a Honda civic, which I have posted a while back! This should give you Lantis peeps some new ideas ! :D

Toyota FT86 (AE86 Trueno inspired)
It is speculated that the vehicle will boast a "2.0-liter flat-four producing 197 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 150 pound-feet of torque at 6,600 rpm" (Source: FT86Club)
Classic Toyota Trueno AE86; rear wheel drive, light curb weight, and 2 doors for great fun! |
The main attraction of the vehicle will not be the power, but the handling; "power is nothing without control". Trust me on this, I have a 255bhp Toyota Altis no a 1.2xx kg chassis (roughly 2400 pounds) that can do 0-100km (0-62mph) in roughly 6 seconds, but the handling is terrible. I enjoy tackling the corners over blazing fast acceleration.
The FT86 will come in 2 trims, with the higher spec variant equipped with LSD in both automatic and manual, leather
wrapped steering wheel, better sound system, cosmetic changes like sport pedal and gauges, and 17" rims,
while LSD will be available for the manual only for the lower spec and comes with 16" rims.
From FT86Club
HP: 147kw (200ps) / 200hp @7000rpm
Torque: 205nm (151 lb/ft) @ 6600rpm
Weight:
- 2662 ponds (1210kg) for base manual (~ 2580 lbs dry weight)
- 2706 pounds for higher trim manual
30.58 mpg
49.21 kmg
Fuel consumption top model:12.4 km/l
29.17 mpg
46.94 kmg
High spec brakes: ventilated discs front and rear.
Low spec brakes: ventilated front, non ventilated rear.
Low spec brakes: ventilated front, non ventilated rear.

Mini Super Car variations!
To start things off, this one seems legit! A pair of Mini cars for wedding.
Not too sure about the authenticity of this one, but its cool nevertheless! A "mini" monster 4 wheel drive!
And here we have a Mini Corvette! Looks photo shopped or something from CarTown.

Traffic Comparison
Given the same amount of people, cars take up an immense amount of space compared to say a bus or bicycles. This explains why Malaysia is so jammed up all the time, because the public transportation is non-existent (waiting up to 2 hours for a bus? lol, furthermore the coverage is terrible! Sometimes you need to take 2-3 buses to get to your destination), thus everyone is forced to buy a car to get around. Don't even get to bicycles, the distance is too far. Complimented by the terrible weather, cycling AND motorbikes are definitely, definitely, out!

2012 Mini Roadster
The 2012 Mini Roadster is shorter, more narrow and lower than the existing mini roadster. Set to rival the Mazda Miata MX5, the roadster will be shown at the Detroit auto Show in early 2012 before going on sale mid year. Prices start at $24,000 (RM80,000 BEFORE tax, roughly RM2xx,000 after tax haha). This is a strictly 2 seater, so guess it would not be too popular in Malaysia, given the weather factor as well.
Performance
The roadster will sport the same 1600cc 4 cylinder injection Prince engine with different levels of output for different trim. Lowest spec 121hp, turbocharged version 181 hp, and 208 hp for the tuned Cooper Works.
Drivetrain wise, it is front wheel drive like all the previous Minis, with a 6 speed manual gearbox available on all models. Automatic is also available across all trims except JCW.
With a weight distribution biased toward the front, officials also claim the new open-top has better traction than earlier Mini models.
